Carmarthenshire 5 - 3 Blues North
In what can only be described as a classic, nail biting, gripping, evenly fought semi final Carmarthenshire scrapped it out to the final whistle to end Blues North's brave attempt to reach the Welsh Cup Final.
Up until the last ten minutes an early penalty miss and disallowed try were Carmarthenshire's only rewards for a blood and guts performance. However after encamping themselves within the Blues 22 and the forwards attempting to bludgeon themselves over the Blues try line it was left to a deft chip to the corner by Alun Howells skillfully accepted by winger Mikey Edwards who drew two defenders before passing inside to pacy wing man Rhys Webb who rounded off the move with an unconverted try.
This result illustrated everything that good about this squad, the progress they have made and the attitude and desire which is within every one player.
News of the final will be posted shortly.
Da iawn bois!

Carmarthenshire 16's 17 - 10 Pembs 16's
A competent all round first half performance ensured Carmarthenshire passage into the Welsh Cup semi finals. Tries from back row members Llyr Morris and Rhodri Jones both converted by Geraint Hughes, who also put over a penalty catapulted Carms into a 17 point to 3 lead at the interval. However a spirited second half performance from Pembrokeshire saw them reply with a penalty try which was easily converted from under the posts.
This win ensured a 27 - 16 aggregate win ensured a semi final match against the winners of the Cardiff Blues region on the 19th of November.
The winner of the above semi final will contest the final against the winner of other semi to be played between the winners of the Ospreys regionn and the Newport Gwent Dragons region.

Carms Under 16s 3 - 7 Afan Nedd Under 16's
Carmarthenshire were very unlucky to loose to a very determined Afan Nedd side at Ammanford last Friday night. Despite leading 3 points to nil thanks to a Rob Evans penalty the Carmarthenshire side leaked a close range try and conversion early in the second half.
Continued forward pressure and superb running and handling skills by the backs constantly asked questions of the Afan Nedd defence. Unfortunately despite brave endeavour Carmarthenshire were unable to break the Afan Nedd defencive line.

Carms 16's 10 - 6 Pembs 16's
Carmarthenshire overcame a spirited Pembrokeshire side 10 points to 6 in last nights Welsh Cup clash at Haverfordwest RFC. With Pembrokeshire dominating the forward battle it was left to the Carmarthenshire team to produce the ball in hand high tempo total rugby which left Rugby Development officer Paul Fisher drivelling with delight.
The Carmarthenshire tries were scored by Chris Morris (aka Tubzzy) whose bullocking 2 meter score was the result of forward pressure on the opposition try line by the Carmarthenshire pack. The second try was instigated from fine forward play within the Carmarthenshire 22 resulting in quick ball being recycled to the backs who showed fine running and handling skills culminating in Rhys Webb run in to score a breath taking try which was loudly applauded by the Pembrokeshire Coaches and crowd.
This result secured Carmarthenshire a 4 point advantage to carry into the home fixture on the 15th of October which promises to be a nail biting contest.
